Being grateful and thankful means having an appreciation for all of life’s gifts, including good health, well being, and talents. As well, I know that sincere expressions of gratitude and appreciation attract more things to be thankful for. When I feel grateful and appreciative of the things that are important in life, I am better able to handle temporary setbacks that may impact my daily routine.
Because I have made a commitment to take advantage of the numerous opportunities I am given to be thankful, I do not complain about trivial issues. When I maintain an attitude of gratitude and appreciation, I am able to focus on the positive aspects of life, even during trying times; therefore, maneuvering through such difficult times helps me to grow stronger and wiser. As a result, not only am I in control, I am empowered to create a better life style for myself.
I take a few minutes every day to express thanks. Sometimes it becomes a rampage of appreciation. That is because there are so many things to be thankful for. I believe that every day is a day of thanksgiving, and that having a grateful spirit makes life more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, stress related health problems have plagued individuals in all walks of life; for that reason, I used gratitude and appreciation as a tool during my quest to combat weight issues, and to correct poor eating habits. I was able to adopt a healthier life style by, first, expressing gratitude for where I was in my challenge, and then by expressing appreciation for the results I wanted to achieve. Yes, it was that simple. The expression of thankfulness and graciousness opened the door to success, and stress never hindered the plan.
Finally, I believe that we can set good examples for our families, by just showing more appreciation for life’s gifts. Additionally, we need to understand that before we can reach the next level, we must appreciate where we are now; after all, at some point in the journey—where we are now was the next level.
Be grateful—the benefits will multiply.
